The Kasbah of Beni Mellal—sometimes called Kasbah Bel Koush, Kasbah of Ain Asserdoun, or Borj Ain—is a small fortress overlooking the city. Built in the 17th century (during the reign of Moulay Ismail), this kasbah is very well preserved. It resembles a small castle and is surrounded by an orchard of orange and olive trees.
